Quantum dots

Quantum dots for display technology

Quantum dots (QDs) are a new class of nanomaterials, for which absorption and emission properties can be adjusted by adapting particle size and particle surface passivation by means of various ligands. Almost the entire visible spectral range is accessible by targeted synthesis of the QDs.

We develop new methods of producing conventional CdSe QDs, CdSe/ZnS core-shell QDs and IR-active PbS QDs on a gram scale. In addition, we are also developing Cd-free synthesis, in order to provide environmentally friendly InP/ZnS QDs for the LED/OLED- and display technology.
