Surface analysis

Analyte:

• Solid samples with sensitivity of water vapour
• Samples can used dry or wet
• 0.5 – 1 g sample material (dependent of specific surface)

Equipment:

Vapour sorption apparature, composed of:

• Temperature controlled chamber for samples
  (variance of temperature: 5 to 50 °C)
• Cahn-balance

Evaluation methods and targets:

• Determination of water vapour sorption by variable rel. moisture (0 to 98 %) and constant temperature (equilibrium moistere content)
• Determination of sorption and desorption-isotherms
• Kinetic measurement of water vapour sorption by constant rel. moisture and temperature
• Application of other solvents – restricted possible
• Calculation of specific surface by taking as a basis of special analysis software
