At Fakuma, Fraunhofer IAP will demonstrate how plastics can be specifically optimized, functionalized, and qualified for industrial applications.

The focus is on current developments ranging from recyclable and bio-based plastics to self-reinforced monomaterials, functionalized polymers, and new types of PBS. Using modern analysis and characterization methods, Fraunhofer IAP investigates the relationships between material structure, processing, and component properties. This allows materials and processes to be specifically tailored to one another.
