At Interpack, Fraunhofer researchers are presenting an innovative printing system for counterfeit-proof QR codes. that combines digital product passports, product protection, and authenticity verification in a single code. SmartID utilizes the unique surface structure of a product, enabling secure authentication throughout the entire supply chain.

The solution is aimed at stakeholders who want to ensure product protection and traceability in addition to meeting legal requirements. 

The Fraunhofer Institutes for Open Communication Systems FOKUS, for Secure Information Technology SIT, and for Applied Polymer Research IAP will be presenting the SmartID camera system integrated into a production line at the Interpack at the booth of the German Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers Association (VDMA).
