Modified starch with barrier properties
Starch products that are applied as an aqueous dispersion on the surface of paper or cardboard are partially hydrophobic. This gives the final product special barrier properties among other things. Here we combine chemical functionalization with a targeted degradation of the starches in order to achieve application concentrations of more than 20 percent.
